10th Festival of Geopolitics – Grenoble, March 14th-17th, 2018

Published on 14/03/2018

Grenoble Ecole de Management is proud to host the 10th Geopolitics Festival that will occur in Grenoble…

… from the 14th to the 17th of March 2018, in partnership with The Mazars Group.

Since its creation, the festival offers participants an opportunity to discuss and focus on global geopolitics issues and specific challenges. The debates explore deep societal questions and this year is no different! The 2018 edition will focus on the United States and its evolving political and economic role in the 21st century. More specifically, will American dominance continue into the 21stcentury? The debates will be relating to a variety of angles such as: can Europe lead the digital revolution? What is the influence of the American model management? Why is Grenoble attractive to U.S. companies, researchers and students?

The festival is open to all and attracts people to come and discuss but also online thanks to live video feeds of the conferences. With only 500 participants in 2009, the festival grew to welcome 12,800 participants in 2017 and we look forward to even more growth this year! The festival events, which will bring together more than 100 specialists from all fields of geopolitical science, include 4 days of conferences, debates, round- tables, films, exhibitions, theatre, a concert and an escape room.

Since 2007, Grenoble Ecole de Management has made geopolitics a cornerstone of its strategy and educational programs. It is important for students to know how to grow and learn in a multi-faceted world that is both digitally connected and complex; they must understand how to act quickly and responsibly in order to respond to unexpected situations.

Jean-Marc Huissoud, Director of the Grenoble Geopolitics Festival explains the 2018 goals of the festival: “After 10 years of continuous growth, the Grenoble Geopolitics Festival has become a recognized European event that is well-known and appreciated. We fulfilled our initial goal of creating a meeting ground for anyone interested in international issues, an event that welcomes the general public as well as experts from all horizons. Today, we feel the need to mobilize other actors as well, in particular, public authorities, economic leaders and political actors. The mission of Grenoble Ecole de Management is to prepare the future. As a result, we wish to move away from theory and provide the festival with a perspective that offers greater concrete understanding and debate on societal issues”.

The event is free and open to everyone; however, registration is required. Events will take place at Grenoble Ecole de Management but also in other locations such as Sciences Po Grenoble, Librairie Decitre, Café des Arts and Maison de l’International.
